How does the process start?
Contact me via email or phone (feel free to text).
Schedule a free 30-minute phone or in-person consultation to get to know one another.
After scheduling our first session, I will send you an email link to set up your client portal, allowing you to access and sign all documentation.
A credit card on file is required to reserve your first appointment. Please complete all paperwork at least one hour before your scheduled appointment time.
Do you offer telehealth and in-person sessions?
Do you take insurance?
I work for my clients, not insurance companies. My priority is to remove any barriers to your treatment. While I’m all for transparency, it’s important to remember that most therapists prefer to be paid in full for their services – and trust me, you get what you pay for. Healing Your Story operates as a private-pay practice.
However, if your insurance includes out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a Superbill for potential reimbursement. (Just be sure to check with your insurance provider for more details!)
What are your rates?
My rates are $155 for 45-minute sessions, $180 for 60-minute sessions, and $290 for 90-minute sessions.

What is your therapeutic style?
How long will therapy take?
The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and the nature of the challenges you’re working through.
Some people attend therapy for just a few sessions to address specific issues, while others may stay in therapy longer to explore more profound or complex concerns. We’ll regularly check your progress and treatment goals to adjust the plan as needed.
Therapy is a process (as we say in the biz, trust the process), and going at a pace that feels right for you is essential.
Can therapy change my life?
Absolutely! Therapy can be a transformative experience. It’s not about instant fixes but healing, growth, and rewriting your life story.
Many people find that therapy helps them see themselves and their struggles through a new lens, allowing them to break free from old patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build more profound, meaningful relationships.
Over time, therapy can help you heal past wounds, reframe your experiences, and create a more empowered and authentic version of your story.
What do you wish your clients would do?
Be honest and authentic from the start. Trust me, I’ve heard it all and seen it all. After collaborating with clients ranging from elementary school kids to sex offenders, there’s not much that surprises me at this point. I’ve been through my trials, too, so there’s no judgment here – just honesty and connection.
It’s okay to cry. Therapy is a safe space to express whatever emotions you need. And don’t worry, I’ll tell you if you’re an “ugly crier,” but honestly, I doubt it. 😊
What you might feel ashamed of, I see as resilience. We all have wounds and have tried to find ways to enhance coping strategies – both healthy and unhealthy. I’m here to connect, not judge. We’re all human, and I’ve had my share of pain and vices as well. My Complex PTSD is Chronic; however, my Therapy Skills are Iconic.
Let me know if you don’t feel connected after a few sessions. We must be a good fit. If we’re not, I’m happy to help you find a therapist who better suits your needs. Your healing journey is the priority.
Homework might be given, but it’s just for you. I offer homework because it can help you progress, but it is no big deal if you don’t do it on time. It’s for your growth, not a test. I want what works best for you!
If something feels off during a session, please tell me! I want to make sure we’re on the right track. We’ll adjust if my approach or suggestions don’t resonate with you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your feedback helps guide the way.
For couples: Feel free to fight in session! Honestly, I receive payment the same whether you agree or disagree. 😄 It’s normal to have conflict, and I’m here to help you work through it together.
Does Perry, your pug, attend all therapy sessions?
Perry is on a salary, so his hours do vary. However, you might spot him occasionally, napping on my lap or stopping by to check in and ensure you’re doing well. 😊
