My approach to therapy is based on lived, REAL AND RAW experiences.
Healing Your Story isn’t just another therapy service.
I am educated with multiple certifications, but this work goes beyond my qualifications. This is what I was born to do.
I didn’t just study healing – I lived it. Growing up in poverty and experiencing abuse, I had to fight to relearn what it means to be the hero of my own story, not the victim or the villain.
I understand the journey of transformation because I have walked it myself.
We uncover and address the underlying issues.
I bring a blend of personal experience, intuition, and education to help you uncover the core wounds and limiting beliefs that may be running your life.
I hear it over and over from clients who have seen other therapists: they felt like they were only hearing what they wanted to hear – no real depth, no actual vulnerability, no one seeing them.
With me, it is different. Yes, you’ll get tools to cope with life’s challenges, but my primary goal is to help you grab the pen, become the author of your own story, and start living the life you truly want to experience.
You’ll feel loved, seen, and challenged in our work together. I don’t want you to cope with the pain; I want you to feel it, face it, and experience genuine healing. This is not about temporary relief; it’s about rewriting your story so you can step into the fullness of who you are and live a life that feels truly yours.
About Britt Gotzinger, LPC
My goal is to help others experience transformation.
I grew up part-time in Winona, MN, and part-time in Wisconsin. In 2013, I received a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and Psychology; in 2016, I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Both degrees are from St. Cloud State University.
After graduation, I packed up and moved to Colorado – not just to find a new place to call home but to find myself and fully embrace the next chapter of my story. It was the ultimate plot twist.
In 2021, I founded Healing Your Story, and I’ve been living and growing my dream ever since. I didn’t just start this business because it sounded good on paper. I started this because I believe we all have the power to heal our stories, rewrite them on our own terms, and step into the life we’ve always dreamed of.
I’m living proof that transformation is possible. From overcoming trauma and abuse to learning how to thrive in a life I love, my personal experience has fueled the work I do with my clients.
Effective therapy requires staying up to date.
I interned for Core Professional Services, specializing in sexual health and sex therapy. I became a sexual assault advocate in 2013 and was an in-school therapist for elementary and high school students for three years (2016-2018).
My certifications include the following: Motivational Speaker Certificate, Certified Trauma Professional, Certification in EMDR, and Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional.
Since 2018, I have maintained a license to practice in Colorado (LPC.0014900).
When I’m not in the therapy room…
I’m focused on my growth. I love lifting weights and finding the balance of mind, body, and soul – it’s the perfect metaphor for healing. I’m also an avid reader (could you tell? 😛) with a book collection that ranges from smutty romances to self-help gems and everything in between. Keep an eye out because I’m working on my books, so my love for reading and writing is about to come full circle.
I also have a diabetic pug named Perry, the unofficial mascot of Healing Your Story. He might pop in during our sessions to say hi from time to time.
Outside of one-on-one therapy, I love educating and speaking publicly at schools, businesses, or conferences. My mission is to help others heal their stories. In the big picture, I’m here to help heal the world – one story at a time.
